At our summer workshops in Livonia, teachers suggested some new helpful resources for teachers with English language learners in their classrooms. Math Khan Academy-videos on a variety of topics taught visually in an appealing manner. Social Studies Khan Academy-videos on a variety of topics taught visually in an appealing manner. iCivics-a web based education project designed to teach students about civics and encourage them to be active members of society. This site, which is the vision of former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, provides interactive games for students. EL Civics-Civics lessons written in simple language for English language learners. Science Khan Academy-videos on a variety of topics taught visually in an appealing manner. English/Language Arts Khan Academy-videos on a variety of topics taught visually in an appealing manner.
